We have been developing and applying quantum and classical multiscale molecular modeling methods, as well as methods of bioinformatics and biomedical informatics. In particular, we have been dealing with:

Currently two infrastrastructure and research grants are being carried out in:

  • POIG.02.03.00-00-003/09, „Applications of digital technologies in medicine”, which is carried out based on a common project of the Polish Academy of Sciences research institutions – „Biocentrum Ochota – information infrastructure for the strategic areas of biology and medicine”(read more),
  • D/NZ2/05314, „Development of a method for the structure prediction of GPCRs complexes with agonists and antagonists, including the ligand-induced alternations of the receptor structure” (read more).

Regarding  POIG.02.03.00-00-003/09, the following four laboratories are being created:

  • Laboratory of Molecular Medicine and Bioinformatics,
  • Laboratory of Biomedical Signals,
  • Laboratory of Biomedical Imaging,
  • Laboratory of Telemedicine.

Three prototypes of the following services are being created:

Regarding D/NZ2/05314, the purpose is to develop an efficient method to predicting 3D structures of complexes consisted of GPCR receptors with their agonists or antagonists, including their mutual interactions. CABS-TP (CABS for Transmembrane Proteins) is a modified coarse-grained CABS model, being capable to efficiently sample the conformational protein space. It is planned to link CABS with a number of cellular membrane models, in particular with a macroscopic continuous one.
